1.
in the light of the morning there's a song it sings itself in and through you illuminates the wall i'm at your well for some water there's no water to be found beneath your skin lies the deepest, darkest well that the words of a father could not make well hear the words of your brother there's no brother to be found it's in the living things you are found
2.
as we walked along in sorrow a man came to our side he asked why we were troubled and we said, 'friend, have you not heard?' the One we knew as love was put upon a tree it was then the darkness fell but our hearts burned within us at the things he said our hearts burned within us this Man was the I Am
3.
you don't know the kind of man i am just how deep the valleys run i've got shadows that are oh so cold soil that's never seen the sun when you said i'd never do you wrong you don't know how wrong you were cause i've sown seeds among the stones and thorns where nothing grows out of the earth never sing of what you've done never sing of who you are cause they're just words to bring you down there are tares among the wheat
4.
we sing of trees so great and tall our songs are brief but they are long enough for us who are so small our sudden blissful, lisping songs they turn to living things consecrating us who are so small three birds sing out their songs now
